The Restorative Alignment (Focus: Greed)
Repairing the Breach and Radical Detachment
Last week, you surveyed the wreckage. You took an honest, unflinching look at your Distortion Ledger and mapped exactly how your ego’s Wrath and Human Respect have harmed the people around you. You measured the collateral damage of your attachment. However, acknowledging the damage is not the same as repairing the breach.
The ego loves a tragic, weeping apology that requires no actual change. It will gladly let you feel immense guilt over your ledger, because guilt is entirely self-centered—it keeps you focused on your feelings. To progress further into the Castle, you must move from self-centered guilt into other-centered restoration. You must confront the archetypal energy of Greed.
The Hoarding of the Ego
When we hear the word Greed, we usually think of money. But in the trench work of recovery, Greed is far more insidious. Greed is the ego’s absolute refusal to empty itself. It is the hoarding of your time, your emotional energy, your vulnerability, and your resources to protect yourself from the Void.
Your ego operates on a terrified scarcity mindset. It believes that if you give away your energy, apologize without defending yourself, or part with a protected resource, you will be left with nothing.
The Mystical Reality: The Law of Kenosis
The Imago Dei is the image of a profoundly generous, self-emptying God. In Christian mysticism, this self-emptying is called kenosis. God does not hoard His divinity; He pours it out. Therefore, it is a spiritual impossibility to unite with the Imago Dei while you are tightly clenching your fists. You cannot hold the grace of the deeper mansions if your hands are already full of the things you refuse to give away.
